Description:
Explore the beauty and symbolism of Islamic art through a hands-on calligraphy workshop, led by a master calligrapher with decades of experience in traditional and contemporary Islamic art forms.

Starting at 10:00 AM, the workshop will begin with a brief history of Islamic art and its unique emphasis on geometric patterns, arabesques, and calligraphy. Participants will learn about the cultural and spiritual significance of calligraphy as a sacred art form in Islamic tradition, highlighting the Quranic verses and poetic texts that have inspired generations of artists.

Following the introduction, the instructor will guide attendees through the fundamental techniques of Arabic calligraphy. Materials such as calligraphy pens, inks, and paper will be provided. The workshop will cover essential scripts, including Naskh and Thuluth, with step-by-step demonstrations and individual assistance to help participants practice the strokes and shapes.

By midday, participants will have created their own calligraphic piece to take home, accompanied by a certificate of participation. The workshop also includes discussions about the preservation of this art form in contemporary contexts and its role in promoting cultural identity.

After a lunch break, the afternoon session will feature a collaborative mural project, where participants will contribute to a large-scale calligraphy artwork to be displayed at our premises as a symbol of community creativity and heritage.

This workshop is ideal for adults and teenagers interested in art, language, and culture. It requires no prior experience, only enthusiasm and an open mind.

The event is free but requires prior registration to manage materials and space. Join us for a day of artistic exploration and cultural enrichment.
