Description:
In honor of International Day of Peace and Women’s Heritage Month, the Association Culturelle Islamique invites the community to a full-day event celebrating the invaluable contributions of Muslim women throughout history and today.

The day’s program begins at 9:30 AM with a keynote presentation by a renowned historian specializing in women’s roles in Islamic civilization. The presentation will explore stories of influential Muslim women scholars, leaders, artists, and activists who have shaped societies across centuries.

Following the keynote, a panel discussion will feature contemporary Muslim women from Strasbourg and beyond, representing diverse professions such as education, social work, arts, and business. Panelists will discuss challenges, achievements, and visions for empowering future generations.

A break for lunch at 12:30 PM will offer attendees the chance to network and enjoy dishes inspired by the culinary traditions of Muslim-majority regions, prepared by local women’s groups.

The afternoon session includes interactive workshops focusing on topics such as women’s health, education opportunities, and leadership development. These workshops are designed to be practical, offering resources and skills for personal and community growth.

At 4:00 PM, cultural performances will highlight the creative talents of Muslim women, featuring poetry readings, traditional music, and dance. This artistic showcase celebrates the vibrancy and diversity of Muslim women’s cultural expressions.

The event will conclude with a community reception at 6:00 PM, providing an opportunity for informal conversation and connections.

Women of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to participate, as well as allies interested in learning and supporting women’s empowerment. The event is free and open to the public.
